New ‘natural’ discovery can literally melt away kidney stones
If you’ve ever suffered through a kidney stone, you know it’s the worst type of pain imaginable.
It can feel like a razor blade is slowly… and I mean slowly… working its way through your system.
And once you’ve had kidney stones, you’re more likely to keep getting them.
But what if there were a simple way to dissolve kidney stones like melted butter — and maybe stop them from ever forming at all?
Texas scientists say it might be possible. And it’s all thanks to one of the weirdest looking fruits around.
Most people have never seen a Garcinia Cambogia, a type of fruit native to India.
And trust me — if you had seen one, you’d remember it. It kind of looks like a weird cross between a bunch of bananas and a pumpkin.
But locked inside the Garcinia Cambogia is a compound that may hold the secret to ending kidney stone misery.
It’s called hydroxycitrate, or HCA. And researchers at the University of Houston discovered that HCA can actually dissolve the most common type of kidney stones — ones comprised of calcium oxalate.
In fact, HCA worked so fast at attacking these stones that they actually dissolved in the laboratory right before the researchers’ eyes!
The Houston team also found that HCA is able to effectively keep calcium oxalate crystals from forming in the first place. And that could mean no more kidney stones for you.
This is really exciting news for a couple reasons. First, there hasn’t been a real breakthrough in preventing kidney stones in ages.
We’ve all been getting the same advice for years. You know, drink lots of water and don’t eat foods high in oxalate such as spinach, okra, beets, almonds, and peanuts.
Second, some of the treatments for kidney stones are practically barbaric. For example, with percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL), surgeons actually slice open your back — and studies have shown that PCNL sends your risk of a blood infection through the roof.
I’d rather just dissolve my stones naturally, thank you very much. And I’m sure you would, too.
Of course, you’re not going to be able to just pick up Garcinia Cambogia in the produce aisle. It’s hard to get your hands on it.
But the good news is that supplement makers have been onto the health wonders of this fruit for a while. And you can grab Garcinia Cambogia extract supplements online or at many health stores.
You’ll also, to a lesser extent, see HCA sold as a stand-alone supplement or used as an ingredient in certain formulas.
