The easy (and delicious) way to stop a deadly infection in its tracks
Have time for a quick quiz? Do you or someone you love suffer from any of these symptoms:
- Irritability
- Brain fog
- Constant fatigue
- Frequent sugar cravings?
If so, you may have an out-of-control (and dangerous) yeast called candida albicans growing in your digestive tract.
And if it spills into your blood stream, it can shut down your organs one by one — and maybe even kill you.
But now researchers from Tufts University claim they’ve discovered an amazing home remedy that could keep a candida infection from ever threatening your life.
It costs less than $10 and can work in just a few days — and you just might have a big tub of it sitting in your pantry right now.
You see, most of us have candida growing in our guts. But when you load up on unhealthy foods like sugar and carbs — or when you’re sick and your immune system is compromised — the candida can spread throughout your body.
And once you have a system-wide candida infection, there’s a 50 percent chance you’ll die from it.
Now for years the mainstream has been pumping candida patients with powerful antifungal drugs like Diflucan that can cause irregular heartbeats and even put you on the fast track for a liver transplant.
But Professor Carol Kumamoto and her colleagues from Tufts say they’ve found a highly effective treatment that can stop candida cold in its tracks.
Coconut oil.
That’s right — the same healthy oil used in cooking and baking.
Now, Dr. Kumamoto and her team already knew from previous studies that coconut oil has some amazing antifungal properties. And when they fed mice a diet high in coconut oil, the candida in their systems never stood a chance.
It took just four days of coconut oil to get candida growth under control. In fact, coconut oil slowed the spread of candida to almost nothing.
And while Dr. Kumamoto’s study was done using mice, there is absolutely no reason to think this nutritious oil won’t deliver the same results in people.
We already know that the lauric acid in coconut oil is highly antimicrobial and antifungal. In fact, the high concentration of lauric acid in mother’s milk is likely why infants who are breast fed are healthier and can fight off infections better than bottle babies.
And don’t let all that nonsense about coconut being high in saturated fat keep this amazing oil out of your diet. I’ve been exposing the junk science behind the low-fat movement for years, and there have been plenty of studies showing how good coconut oil can be for our hearts and our brains.
Now we know it can help us keep this potentially deadly yeast infection at bay, too.
If you’re not already using coconut oil in your kitchen, it’s every bit as easy to use as other oils. You can sauté, bake and broil with it. Just remember to buy a brand that’s unrefined, virgin and organic.
And now that the cat’s out of the bag about the benefits of coconut oil, you no longer have to shop at a specialty or health-food store to find a good brand. These days, you can pick up a jar in most any supermarket, often for less than $10.
And if you ask me, that makes a lot more sense than picking up a prescription at your local pharmacy.
