High in the Sierra Mountains in the US Midwest—around thirty years ago—a plucky prospector searching for gold came across something else entirely…
Something that would prove to be quite valuable…
Especially for people suffering from chronic pain.
Nothing much happened with his discovery for more than ten years.
And then something occurred that would change the lives of thousands of people living with agonizing arthritis.
“He brought me a bag of sand”
Peter Bentley was having trouble with his hands… and it was interfering with his golf game. He struggled to open and close his fingers, making it very difficult to grip.
Until one afternoon, in the late 1990s, when a broker friend came to see him, carrying a little bag of sand. It turned out that many people—including a well-known professional hockey player—claimed this sand, a “miracle substance,” had helped them. And the broker asked Peter to try it.
He did, mixing a teaspoon of the sand in some water. And he did that every day, for a whole week.
And that’s when Peter noticed the change. His fingers were working like normal—they opened and closed and gripped with no problems at all.
Peter liked the bag of sand so much that he bought more—the whole company, in fact—and began to study that sand in earnest.
73% less cartilage breakdown in just one week
The earliest studies on the sand, now known as SierraSil, took place in the lab. Like this in vitro study which used cartilage tissues and cells from osteoarthritis (OA) patients.
The researchers found that SierraSil reduced the breakdown of cartilage cells by up to 73 percent… in just one week. That very promising result gave them a glimpse into how SierraSil works to limit the joint destruction that comes with arthritis.
Around the same time, they were testing SierraSil extensively for safety, including high dosages and long-term use. And once they were satisfied that SierraSil was safe, and wouldn’t cause harmful side effects, they began to look at its impact on OA patients.
Fast, measurable pain relief
The first clinical trial1, published back in 2005, included 91 patients with OA of the knee. In this randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, we got the first verifiable glimpse of just how well SierraSil worked to ease arthritis pain.
Within the first two weeks of treatment, patients taking SierraSil saw significant pain reduction. And by week four, their pain had decreased by up to 43%… much more than the placebo group. What’s more, no adverse side effects were noted during the eight-week study, even at the highest doses of SierraSil.
And just last year, another randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial2 was run with SierraSil, this one with 150 adults suffering from OA of the knee. For this twelve-week study, all patients in the SierraSil group took two grams of the compound each day—an important detail since 75% of the subjects were overweight or obese, which calls for a larger dose. SierraSil was effective in relieving arthritis pain and stiffness, and improving physical function and activity overall, but the most stunning results came for subjects of normal weight.
This is NOT a mineral supplement
SierraSil contains at least 40 distinct macro and trace minerals, including calcium, magnesium, iron, and zinc. But that doesn’t make it a mineral supplement. Because of the unique structure of this mineral compound, most of the minerals will pass straight through your body without being absorbed.

The pain was just gone
Master Chief Sean Daley proudly served in the U.S. Navy for thirty years, spending multiple tours on aircraft carriers in the Middle East.
And for thirty years, he climbed up and down rigid ladders onto unforgiving metal floors—and his knees paid the price.
Even at home, climbing stairs brought back that knee pain, and he just toughed it out.

But that seemed impossible. “By August 2013 I could barely walk, and I couldn’t drive far without stopping. At that point, I was willing to try almost anything to make the pain stop. I just couldn’t live like that.”
