It looks like Monsanto is “too big to fail.”

Because no matter which horrible consequences are linked to its Roundup herbicide, Monsanto is allowed to keep selling as much of the stuff as it can make.

Now, a frightening new study has found this widely used weed killer can help create more deadly antibiotic-resistant “superbugs.”

Exactly what we needed, right?

So we can add that to the list of already known dangers from Roundup — like hormonal changes, liver, heart, kidney and immune-system damage, and cancer.

In this new study, researchers from the New Zealand’s University of Canterbury found that bacteria are more immune to antibiotics, including tetracycline and cipro, after being exposed to Roundup and two other herbicides.

They also discovered that the amounts sprayed on crops are all it takes for that to happen.

That’s really unsettling, given just how much Roundup is being used. But it makes sense, as the active chemical in Roundup, called glyphosate, is also patented as an antibiotic.

The researchers believe Roundup activates certain genes in the bacteria that immunize them against antibiotics.

That’s bad news, because “Roundup Ready” genetically modified crops are becoming increasingly hard to avoid. You’ll find them in most of today’s processed foods.

That means every time we eat these products, we may be adding to our risk of getting a disease that antibiotics can’t treat.

These findings give even more urgency to the labeling of GM foods. That way, at least we’ll all know at a glance which products to avoid.

Meet the Health Sciences Institute

The Health Sciences Institute (HSI) is an independent organization established in 1998. We’re dedicated to uncovering and researching the most urgent advances in modern underground medicine. Things you WON’T hear about in the mainstream.

Whether they come from a laboratory in Malaysia, a clinic in South America, or a university in Germany, our goal is to bring the treatments that work directly to the people who need them. We alert our Members to exciting breakthroughs in medicine, show them exactly where to go to learn more, and help them understand how they and their families can benefit from these powerful discoveries.
