Talk about putting lipstick on a pig!

Remember “Pink Slime?” It was all over the news a few years ago and we were sickened by just the thought of it.

Pink Slime is what media called ground-up meat scraps and “connective tissue” added to over 70 percent of our ground beef!

As you can imagine the company that makes most of this “slime” was not happy with all that publicity. So what did they do? Made more publicity for themselves and got us thinking pink again.

Just when everyone was starting to forget all about Pink Slime, Cargill issued a press release admitting that consumers want this slime…whoops, I mean “finely textured beef,” labeled on products.

And they will be doing that just in time for the “2014 grilling season.”

So next time you’re in the supermarket and see a fancy new label on ground meat proudly saying “contains finely textured beef,” you’ll know they put lipstick on their slime.
