If you’re looking for a good return on your multivitamin investment, here it is…
Vitamin deficiency is common as we get older. And when you have general deficiency, you’re likely to be zinc deficient too.
It’s not something you see a lot in the press. (Maybe zinc needs a better agent.) But in all seriousness, it’s critical to get enough.
And here’s why:
Nearly half of older patients admitted to intensive care are zinc deficient.
New research shows that zinc helps regulate the immune response in sepsis. Sepsis occurs in response to infection. So patients in the ICU, especially the elderly, are particularly vulnerable to it. And it is often what leads to hospital-related deaths.
Check your multivitamin to make sure it includes zinc. And talk to your doctor about making sure your zinc levels are healthy.
It’s the best way to go into the hospital…and to come out.
