This National Osteoporosis Foundation announcement is shocking and completely unexpected
Yesterday, I told you about the absurd new recommendation for vitamin D and calcium. The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force now recommends that this supplement duo shouldn’t be taken to prevent bone fractures.
Crazy, right?
But it was a bit shocking to see that the National Osteoporosis Foundation actually refuted the recommendation.
You see, the NOF is one of those high profile health-niche organizations with ties to Big Pharma.
And yet, the NOF President said the media coverage of the PSTF recommendations… “is not balanced with the important benefits of these nutrients.”
And… “We also know that osteoporosis medications don’t work without calcium and vitamin D.”
Don’t work!? Yikes! There’s a newsflash!
The press release ended with this… “Never stop taking your supplements without checking with your doctor first.”
It takes a lot to shock me, but NOF just did. Hopefully others will follow their lead and serve their constituents and not just their masters.
