Here’s how you can avoid a lifetime of toxin exposure from herbicide-drenched GM crops
Don’t choose your poison
Earlier this week I told you about the potential dangers in irradiated chicken. The FDA says chicken producers can now use significantly higher levels of radiation to kill bacteria and parasites.
Irradiation creates radiotoxins in the meat. That’s just one problem. But that’s plenty enough. These toxins include formaldehyde and benzene. Both are known carcinogens.
We’ll call chicken irradiation “Don’t let them poison you, Part 1.”
Today… Don’t let them poison you, Part 2.
Completely different poisons. Terrible for you in completely different ways. The only thing they have in common is how blatantly our health is being ignored to keep them on the market.
Bait and switch
When organizations gush about the benefits of genetically modified (GM) crops, they love to tell their favorite lie over and over. I guess it makes them feel like heroes.
I’m sure you’ve heard it… GM innovations will solve the problems of feeding a hungry world. Agriculture in third-world countries will thrive. Finally, there will be enough food for everyone.
That would be impressive. If only it were true. I could be generous and call it a fantasy. But insiders know the truth.
The most impressive GM success is wrecking U.S. agriculture. I’m talking about Roundup Ready crops. As I’ve mentioned many times, Monsanto developed GM corn, soy, etc., that can survive repeated dousing with Roundup weed killer.
Monsanto, of course, also makes Roundup. So it’s a win-win for Monsanto. But not for anyone else.
A new survey reveals it’s a devastating lose-lose. More than one in four U.S. farmers are fighting off multiple species of Roundup resistant weeds. And it’s getting worse. That percentage has more than doubled since 2010.
Last year, 92% of Georgia farmers reported Roundup resistant weeds.
More than 60 million acres of U.S. farmland are “infested” with these fast-growing superweeds. Imagine 70,000 Central Parks. It’s larger than that.
In Mississippi, a superweed called Italian ryegrass is giving farmers fits. The solution? More weed killer. And lots of it.
The Delta Farm Press advises farmers to treat their fields with herbicide in the fall. But not just any herbicide. This weed killer soaks the soil for a long-term effect. DFP also suggests an application of ANOTHER herbicide before spring planting.
It’s called the “multi-poison approach.”
More weeds. More poison. Lower yield.
In fact, about the only TRUE guarantee from GM is that farmers will use herbicides in much greater quantities. And that’s a huge profit booster for herbicide makers. I’m sure you’ll recognize their names… Dow, DuPont, Bayer, BASF, and, of course, Monsanto.
They get wealthy. Our food gets more and more dangerous.
Even if they could feed the world, look what they are feeding them!
For you and me, choosing certified organic food is the only way to avoid all these toxins.
I prefer my corn grilled…not Roundup Ready.
