We know that vitamin C supports vision health. But that support appears to be more important than we thought.

A new study shows that cells in the retina of the eye need to be “bathed” in high doses of vitamin C in order to function.

And this has further implications for brain health.

The retina is actually part of the central nervous system. So researchers believe that the retina’s need for C is an important clue. They say it suggests a key role for vitamin C throughout the brain, “to a degree we had not realized before.”

The researchers call this a “surprising discovery.” But knowing vitamin C’s many benefits, I’m not at all surprised that it’s an essential nutrient for brain function too.

Meet the Health Sciences Institute

The Health Sciences Institute (HSI) is an independent organization established in 1998. We’re dedicated to uncovering and researching the most urgent advances in modern underground medicine. Things you WON’T hear about in the mainstream.

Whether they come from a laboratory in Malaysia, a clinic in South America, or a university in Germany, our goal is to bring the treatments that work directly to the people who need them. We alert our Members to exciting breakthroughs in medicine, show them exactly where to go to learn more, and help them understand how they and their families can benefit from these powerful discoveries.
