Shortly after the holiday break, Martin, who heads our operations department, sent me an e-mail highlighting something from a book he got for Christmas.

The book: “Uncle John’s Bathroom Reader.”

In a chapter titled “Were These Studies Really Necessary?” Martin shared details of a less-than-urgent study from England. It concluded that sword swallowers are at high risk of sore throats and internal bleeding.

More importantly, you should know these risks increase when a sword swallower is distracted mid-swallow.

I’ve told you about some pretty stupid and wasteful studies but I have to say…this one takes the cake. It’s like the Darwin Awards for scientists.

Meet the Health Sciences Institute

The Health Sciences Institute (HSI) is an independent organization established in 1998. We’re dedicated to uncovering and researching the most urgent advances in modern underground medicine. Things you WON’T hear about in the mainstream.

Whether they come from a laboratory in Malaysia, a clinic in South America, or a university in Germany, our goal is to bring the treatments that work directly to the people who need them. We alert our Members to exciting breakthroughs in medicine, show them exactly where to go to learn more, and help them understand how they and their families can benefit from these powerful discoveries.
