There’s only one safe way to grow new neurons in your brain
Today you have new brain cells you didn’t have yesterday.
And in the near future there may be a drug you can take that will nurture those new brain cells to help them grow and survive.
That’s the news from researchers at the University of Texas Southwestern. And Reuters reports: “They said it seems safe.”
Well! Say no more. If it “seems safe,” I’m sure there won’t be a problem in giving that drug to millions!
For now, this drug is called P7C3. But don’t bother asking your doctor if P7C3 is right for you. It’s still in the experimental stage with mice.
I know. I’m surprised too. Once they say “it seems safe,” the FDA usually springs into action to approve new drugs.
But you don’t have to wait. If you like the idea of nurturing fresh new brain cells– especially those in the hippocampus (the learning and memory section of your brain)– then you might be interested in the alternative to P7C3.
I know you’ve heard this one before, but more than 40 years of science backs it up: Use your brain to save your brain.
Research shows that your brain creates new neurons in response to the challenge of learning. And when learning continues, those neurons live longer and function better.
Side effects of learning include improved memory and reduced risk of cognitive decline.
Now THAT seems pretty safe–and not just in mice!
