Taco Bell executives are scrambling to defend their seasoned ground beef.

An Alabama law firm recently filed a consumer rights class action lawsuit against Taco Bell. The suit claims that TB’s seasoned ground beef contains too much filler to be called beef.

Taco Bell executives countered by saying, “Thank you for suing us.”

That’s the headline that tops full page advertisements in major newspapers. The ads claim that 88 percent of Taco Bell’s seasoned ground beef is actual beef. The rest is made up of mostly seasonings, water, sugar, and oats.

Oats? In your Chalupa Baja? Your Crunchwrap Supreme?

This news must come as a terrible shock to Mexican food purists who are under the impression that Taco Bell entrées are the most authentic, high quality products available.

But I think I know how Taco Bell can save this one.

Instead of playing down the oats filler, they should follow the lead of Cheerios and play UP the heart health benefits of oats.

Then they could run ads with adorable children saying, “Dad, I ordered the Volcano Nachos to help lower your cholesterol.”

Taco Bell–the new health food!
