In this season of Sandwiches Gone Wild, one fast-food sandwich stands out as the most flagrantly unhealthy “food” item imaginable: the Skinwich from KFC.
Hold onto your hat…
You take a few slices of bacon and American cheese, wedge them between several layers of fried chicken skin, stack this vile pile between two buns, and then put your affairs in order because I don’t think you’re staying long in this world
if your diet includes more than one or two Skinwiches per year.
A friend sent me a link to a food blog that features a Skinwich taste-test, complete with photos and a list of KFC outlets that are offering this atrocity on a limited basis.
And that’s where you get a very subtle tipoff that it’s all a hoax.
One of the KFC outlets is located in Ekaf, Maine. Another in Eritas, California. And if you spell the names of those towns backwards, all is revealed.
I admit, they had me going there. After the bizarre KFC Double Down sandwich (bun replaced with two fried chicken filets), followed by Friendly’s Grilled Cheese Burger Melt and Denny’s Fried Cheese Melt, I was willing to believe that KFC had decided to go “all in” with the ultimate nutritional train wreck.
We can only hope that someone at KFC isn’t looking at this hoax and thinking, “Hmmm–not a bad idea.”
Please, KFC. Say it ain’t so!
To Your Good Health,
