Someone at the Friendly’s restaurant chain must have gotten a look at the KFC Double Down sandwich and said, “We ought to be able to come up with something just as insane as that.”

And I do believe they’ve done it.

Introducing…the Grilled Cheese BurgerMelt. It’s a burger, wedged between two grilled cheese sandwiches.

No kidding. You’ve got to see it to believe it. But even when you see it pictured on Friendly’s website (friendlys.com) it still looks like some Internet prank.

And if you happen to enjoy getting nearly all your daily calories in one meal, step right up! The Grilled Cheese BurgerMelt delivers 1,500 calories with nearly 40 grams of saturated fat.

Carbs? Oh my yes. Over 100!

But really, what do you expect from a restaurant with a tag line like this: “Where ice cream makes the meal”?

Throw back a couple of scoops of Rocky Road after your Grilled Cheese BurgerMelt, and you’ll go straight to the front ranks of American’s obesity epidemic.

To Your Good Health,

Jenny Thompson
