Just how long is menopause anyway?

I received this hilarious e-mail from HSI Panelist Allan Spreen, M.D., today. Here it is in its entirety…

“I wish I could’ve taped it – the radio has an ad down here inviting people to join a study of a drug to counter the effects of menopause…

“The requirements are that you be female (okay), menopausal (yep), and ‘between the ages of 18 and 70.'”

“Now THAT’S scary to contemplate!” I’m sure more than one menopausal woman has wondered if her condition was actually going to last for 50-plus years.
