NyQuil – now fortified with a tiny dollop of vitamin C

Want to “enjoy an even sweeter tomorrow”?

That’s what you’ll get (we’re told) when you take a swig or two of Vick’s NyQuil Cold & Flu Symptom Relief Plus Vitamin C.

Seriously – they put vitamin C in this stuff now. And the NyQuil website boasts: “You’ll replenish your body with 150% of the daily value of vitamin C.”

Wow! 150%! That’s got to be…slightly more than almost nothing.

If Vicks followed recently updated U.S. guidelines, their “plus” product contains 135 whopping milligrams of vitamin C. Which your body should fully process in about the time it takes to get in your car, drive to the vitamin store, and buy a high-quality vitamin C supplement with an adequate dosage.

We’re not talking “government” adequate, of course, but rather “real world” adequate. Like a couple of grams per day (provided your doctor agrees).
