Tomatoes – now with no artificial ingredients!

On a recent trip to my local Wegman’s grocery store, I came across a bin of grape tomatoes that had little stickers on them that said: “No artificial ingredients.”

How’s that again?

Does this mean the tomatoes that don’t have this sticker DO contain artificial ingredients?

And what artificial ingredients might tomatoes contain? Red dye? High fructose corn syrup?

Or is this a subtle way of trying to make me thing the tomatoes are organic? Or maybe they come from crops that haven’t been genetically modified?

I’ll tell you the truth, Wegman’s – I wish you wouldn’t put any stickers on your tomatoes at all!
