Making a Difference
What’s the most gratifying part of my job? Knowing that the information I send you sometimes makes a difference in people’s lives.
In the e-Alert “In the Jungle, the Quiet Jungle” (8/15/07), I told you how HSI Panelist Leslie Taylor, N.D., has been a major player in alerting the alternative health care community to the cancer-fighting benefits of the rainforest botanical graviola.
On the morning that e-Alert went out, I received this e-mail from an HSI member named Paul:
“Here is something purely anecdotal, except that it was my wife.
“My wife during a scheduled mammogram was shown to have a lump on her breast. She was told to take a second reading 90 days later, and see if it grew.
“Remembering to rummage through your email missives, we purchased some graviola, and she took it during those 90 days. Going back for the second opinion, the lump was gone.
“Not smaller, not reduced, gone. Period.”

HSI members first learned about graviola in the January 2001 issue of the HSI Members Alert. But graviola is just one of many groundbreaking health discoveries we’ve introduced to our membership.
