Bake Cookies on Your Dashboard

During that beastly heat wave earlier this month I came across a unique cookie recipe. Here’s all you need:

  • Cookie sheet
  • Cookie dough
  • 95-degree day
  • A car

Place spoonfuls of dough on the cookie sheet. Place the sheet on the car dashboard. Cook till golden brown.

This recipe comes from Sandi Fontaine of Bedford, New Hampshire. Sandi first tried her baking technique three years ago. She recently told the Associated Press that the key ingredient is a 95-degree day. At that temperature, the interior of a car will heat to about 200 degrees when the windows are rolled up.

Hopefully we won’t have too many more 95+ days this summer. But those who do can treat their friends to a batch of sweltering summer cookies.

And according to Sandi there’s an added perk to this easy baking method: Your car will have a delightful cookie aroma.
