For those who have struggled and failed to lose weight with a variety of different diets, here’s one that’s guaranteed to work: It’s the HP Photosmart Diet.

Okay, the name isn’t as catchy as the South Beach Diet, or as succinct as the Atkins Diet, but you can lose a few pounds instantly with just the push of a button.

Thank the tech team a Hewlett-Packard for this weight loss miracle. HP just released a new line of digital Photosmart cameras. How smart are they? After you take a photo, you can select a “slimming” option that will tweak the digital image to make subjects in the center of the frame appear slightly slimmer.

Watch those pounds just melt away!

Karl Wardrop, the digital imaging product manager for HP, told the New York Post that the slimming technique works sort of like a fun house mirror, narrowing the center of the photo while widening the edges. Of course, the camera effect is not as extreme as a fun house mirror, but if someone takes a photo of you with a friend on either side, then not only will you slim down, but your friends will also plump up just a bit, making the slimming effect even more pronounced.

It’s not a nice thing to do to your friends, but when it comes to weight loss it’s every dieter for himself.
