At first glance, oral chelation treatments seem like a good method of ridding the body of toxic heavy metals. They’re a lot more convenient and a lot less expensive than the more commonly used IV treatments.

But oral chelation has never been fully accepted by health professionals because none of the treatments ever proved to be as effective as the IV form. Yet at the same time, it’s getting harder and harder to find clinics that provide IV chelation treatments. Many clinics that do are being forced to shut down by various medical boards who consider chelation an “inappropriate treatment method”-despite years of safe, effective use by millions of people.

HSI panelist Jon Barron addresses both of these concerns with a new oral chelation product called Metal Magic. It is the first clinically proven oral chelation treatment. A recent study showed that Metal Magic can naturally remove an average of 87 percent of lead, 91 percent of mercury, and 74 percent of aluminum from the body within 42 days. With study results like these, you can feel confident in the results you’d get-and what’s even better is that you can get them from the comfort of your own home.

Toxins everywhere you turn

If you eat, drink, or bathe, you’re being exposed to toxic metals on a daily basis. The problem is that once heavy metals enter the system, they stay there because our bodies don’t naturally expel them. And once they’re there, they slowly chip away at your health by leading to all sorts of seemingly unrelated problems. In fact, heavy metal toxicity has been linked to high blood pressure, joint pain, and Alzheimer’s disease.

We are literally surrounded by the “big three” heavy metals: lead, aluminum, and mercury. Heavy metals can find their way into your body in small doses through sources that may surprise you-wine bottle wrappers, tile and linoleum, and crystal glassware, just to name a few.

But the Environmental Protection Agency estimates that 10 to 20 percent of human exposure to lead may come from your drinking water. Lead exposure has been linked to high blood pressure, digestive problems, nerve disorders, memory and concentration problems, and muscle and joint pain. And, unfortunately, having a water filter is not adequate protection. Although most water filters will reduce the level of chlorine, they won’t cut down on the heavy metals.

Another heavy metal we’re exposed to every day is aluminum. Significant amounts of aluminum can be found in food emulsifiers, antiperspirant deodorants, hair sprays, baking powder, many types of toothpaste, much of our drinking water, and most of our cookware. Aluminum accumulates in your brain, where it kills off neurons and leads to memory loss. At this point, it’s fairly common knowledge that aluminum has been implicated in Alzheimer’s disease, though that link hasn’t been officially proven.

To find the third heavy metal, you probably don’t have to look beyond your own mouth. Chances are you paid good money to have your dentist fill a cavity with this toxic metal. Mercury is a naturally occurring toxin found in soil, rocks, wood, and fuels (coal and oil), and from those sources it stealthily makes its way into our water and air. But the two primary sources of mercury exposure are our dental fillings and our food supply.

Numerous studies conducted in the 1970s and 80s proved conclusively that the mercury from fillings leaks into your body when you chew, ending up in your lungs, heart, stomach, kidneys, endocrine glands, gastrointestinal tract, jaw tissue, and brain.

But the problem with mercury fillings is that they can be just as dangerous to remove as they are to leave in. Removing an amalgam (mercury) filling releases significant amounts of mercury into your lungs, kidneys, endocrine organs, liver, and heart-even when there was no detection of mercury in these organs before the procedure.

Mercury can also be present in certain foods we eat. You’ve probably heard the many warnings on the news about high levels of mercury in large game fish, such as swordfish, sharks, and tuna.

The one, two combo that knocks out tough metals

The best way to rid your body of these harmful metals is by chelation, a process that removes heavy metals from the bloodstream. All of these toxic metals have an electrical charge that causes them to tightly bond to body tissue. The key to removing them from the body is to neutralize the electrical charge, basically getting the metals to release their grip on your cells.1

Originally, to get a chelation treatment you had to go to a clinic and have it done intravenously. Most oral chelation formulas are based on EDTA, a substance that has been proven when used intravenously, but not when used orally. But Metal Magic’s powerful duo of fresh cilantro and chlorella rids your body of the metals as effectively as IV treatments-and you don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars or even leave your house. First, the cilantro neutralizes the charge in the metals, then the chlorella absorbs the heavy metals and eliminates them from the body.2 Plus, Metal Magic is in a liquid extract form, which makes the cilantro and chlorella even stronger.

There are a handful formulas based on using chlorella or cilantro separately, but this is the first formula that combines the two.

To test the effectiveness of Metal Magic, Barron turned to the experts at Fenestra Research, a unique lab specializing in testing product claims. Before testing Metal Magic, Fenestra founder and president Melonie Montgomery had tested two other oral chelation products from well-known companies-one had no detectable effect and the other had about a 5 percent total effect. But when she reviewed Metal Magic, she saw a dramatic difference.

The trial confirmed that Metal Magic lives up to its claims. Of the 50 people participating in the trial, five subjects showed a 100 percent reduction in their lead levels, 17 showed a 100 percent reduction in their mercury levels, and 10 showed a 92 percent reduction in their aluminum levels.

No one during the testing had any adverse reactions or side effects. It’s important to note, however, that as you rid your body of heavy metals, you are going through a period of detoxification, and you could experience symptoms such as fatigue, loose bowels, or common cold symptoms. There’s no need to be alarmed-this is your body’s way of purging what doesn’t belong. To better understand detox reactions, check out www.jonbarron.org/newsletters/news030929.htm .

Because Fenestra had previously tested IV chelation, the company was able to offer a direct (albeit informal) comparison of Metal Magic and IV treatments using identical methodology. And in Montgomery’s opinion, Metal Magic may even be more effective than IV chelation.

Beyond heavy metal detox

Metal Magic also decreases the levels of other toxins that can get stored in your body, such as nitrate and ammonium. These particles build up as a result of poor digestion, and they cause your body’s pH level to drop. Low pH levels can cause lactic acid build-up and reduced immune function. But using Metal Magic causes pH levels to become an average of 33 percent more alkaline. And the higher the pH, the higher the immune function.

“Everyone can benefit from this product,” Montgomery said. “I recommend that everyone use it at least two times yearly for at least 42 days each time. [It] may save you from having very serious wellness issues later.”

Metal Magic isn’t intended as a daily supplement because your body actually needs small amounts of some metals (such as iron), and you don’t want to completely eliminate them from your body. Barron suggests that once you are cleaned out after 42 days, you should only use Metal Magic for two weeks at a time every three to four months to keep your body free of heavy metal pollution. However, if you have dental amalgam fillings or eat a lot of high-mercury fish, you should consider doing a cleanse every two months.

Meet the Health Sciences Institute

The Health Sciences Institute (HSI) is an independent organization established in 1998. We’re dedicated to uncovering and researching the most urgent advances in modern underground medicine. Things you WON’T hear about in the mainstream.

Whether they come from a laboratory in Malaysia, a clinic in South America, or a university in Germany, our goal is to bring the treatments that work directly to the people who need them. We alert our Members to exciting breakthroughs in medicine, show them exactly where to go to learn more, and help them understand how they and their families can benefit from these powerful discoveries.
