Beat The Blues

There are all kinds of ways to kick the blues.

An old friend of mine used to go for a long drive whenever he felt down in the dumps. He wouldn’t drive anywhere in particular, he’d just drive, and he said it always did the trick for him.

In the e-Alert “Back on Track” (11/4/03) I told you about the specific concerns of the elderly who suffer from depression, and how an increased intake of omega-3 fatty acids is sometimes all that’s necessary to help lift the spirits.

But if long drives in the countryside and a daily serving of fish don’t cure the blues or relieve anxiety, there are other natural methods that might help.

HSI Panelist Hyla Cass, M.D., and colleagues at NorthStar Nutritionals recently teamed up to produce a unique new formulation of herbs and nutrients called Daily Calm, designed to enhance mood, and mental clarity.

Calling on her expertise as an assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at the UCLA School of Medicine, Dr. Cass helped create Daily Calm by combining three effective nutrients that I’ve told you about in previous e-Alerts: L-Theanine is a mood-stabilizer extracted from green tea, GABA helps regulate brain cell functioning, and L-Taurine has been shown to successfully treat insomnia, as well as depression.

These compounds have been formulated with a special mix of herbs to help promote a calm, focused peace of mind and improved concentration, without the foggy, disconnected feeling that often comes with mood-elevating prescription drugs.

Meet the Health Sciences Institute

The Health Sciences Institute (HSI) is an independent organization established in 1998. We’re dedicated to uncovering and researching the most urgent advances in modern underground medicine. Things you WON’T hear about in the mainstream.

Whether they come from a laboratory in Malaysia, a clinic in South America, or a university in Germany, our goal is to bring the treatments that work directly to the people who need them. We alert our Members to exciting breakthroughs in medicine, show them exactly where to go to learn more, and help them understand how they and their families can benefit from these powerful discoveries.
