Finding recently noted products
Over the holidays I sent you e-Alerts about the pleasures and health benefits of two beverages: African Red Bush Tea (“Baltimore Tea Party” 12/26/02) and a white wine – Paradoxe Blanc – especially developed to contain as much of the antioxidant polyphenol as red wines (“Bob’s Your Uncle” 12/31/02).
HSI member responses to both e-Alerts have been mostly along the lines of: “Where can I get some?”
A member named Lynn wrote: “I went to Baltimore Coffee and Tea online to order African red bush tea. They could not locate it for me. Please, can you give me any further information as to where I can order this tea?”
The African Red Bush Tea (which I’m still enjoying quite a bit) can be ordered from the Baltimore Coffee and Tea Company by phone (800-823-1408), or you can go to their web site (baltcoffee.com). This site is huge and takes some doing to navigate. Click on “Our Famous Tea Collection” – then click on “Eastern Shore Tea Company Loose Teas – Unique blends & flavors” When that page comes up you’ll see more than 50 teas listed in alphabetical order. Scroll down until you find “Eastern Shore Red Bush (Rooibos) Tea.”
As I said, it will take a little doing to find it, but that’s a snap compared to finding Paradoxe Blanc.
HSI member Andrea sent this e-mail: “OK, already, you’ve got me intrigued! Where can I BUY some of this Paradoxe Blanc wine?”
While researching the wine e-Alert, I came across several reports that claim the wine is now commercially available, but with zero information about where to find it. After checking at my local wine store, and searching several wine web sites on the Internet (one of which boasted having more than 2,500 different wines for sale), I’m beginning to suspect that Paradoxe Blanc may only be available in France right now.
If there are any dedicated wine connoisseurs out there who know where and how we might come by a bottle of PB, please write and let us know!
