Sneaky cold sore culprit no match for this antiviral from the Alps

The MOMENT your lips start tingling… you know EXACTLY what’s coming.

Whether you call it a “cold sore”… or a “fever blister”…

The culprit behind it is a VIRUS.

Specifically, it’s Human alphaherpesvirus 1, or herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV-1).

It’s incredibly common… and even MORE contagious.

When it flares up… and breaks out into those painful blisters or sores… it can seem like it’s taken over your entire face.

You don’t even want to look in the mirror — much less walk out your front door.

And you can FORGET about puckering up to your spouse anytime soon.

Although it may go “into hiding”… it never goes away COMPLETELY.

It can strike at ANY time – and it usually does, at the most inopportune times. (Family portrait day, anyone?)

Fortunately, there’s a natural antiviral remedy that can reduce the occurrence of cold sore outbreaks.

It’s taken the cosmetic industry by storm…

But does it live up to the hype?

Keep this pesky virus from taking hold

If you develop a herpetic stomatitis infection (a.k.a. cold sores), there’s not much that mainstream medicine can offer you.

They might NUMB the painful areas around your mouth… or give you an antiviral med that can make you feel sick all over.

Worse yet, some strains of the virus that causes cold sores have learned to RESIST those antiviral pharmaceutical drugs.

There’s another way…

And it’s found in one of the most iconic plants of the Swiss Alps – right alongside edelweiss.

It’s called the alpenrose… or “alpine rose” (Rhododendron ferrugineum)… and it can live as long as 100 years.

It’s not a TRUE rose, though…

It’s part of the heath and heather family (Ericaceae)!

And it’s not the flower blossoms you’re after… but the leaves.

That’s where the plant’s antiviral power is LOCKED AWAY.

But there’s a catch.

On their own… plucked from the wild mountaintops of Switzerland… almost all parts of rhododendrons can be toxic if you eat them.

In order to WARD OFF the viruswithout HURTING you in the process… their power needs to be harnessed in just the right away.

I’m talking about a topical form of alpine rose extract.

According to research, this polyphenol-rich extract doesn’t kill HSV-1 – but it does SABOTAGE the virus’s efforts to INFECT you.

You see, in order for an outbreak to occur, the herpes virus needs to ATTACH itself to the surface of your cells… and ultimately PENETRATE them.

This extract BLOCKS adhesion… and ABOLISHES entry!

It does something else, too…

It helps REBUILD a skin barrier that’s been compromised by aging and environmental factors.

You already know how UVB radiation from sun exposure can create oxidative damage…

But one of the ways it damages you is by promoting the formation of oxidized or “carbonylated” proteins.

Those damaged proteins not only make your skin age FASTER

They also SUPPRESS your immune system’s ability to fight off an outbreak of a viral infection.

Alpine rose extract COUNTERACTS that process by SLAMMING THE BRAKES on the formation of carbonylated proteins.

Now, you may see expensive serums and creams touting the “anti-aging” benefits of alpine rose.

And that may be true. After all, it does fight free radicals.

At this point, though, the science shows us a more beneficial MEDICINAL use for this Swiss skin saver.

Look for topical products that contain the ingredient “Alpine Rose Active” from Mibelle Biochemistry, the company that’s pioneered the use of this extract in fighting herpes infections.

But don’t even THINK about ingesting it!

You can also try other natural cold sore remedies like sandalwood and the amino acid lysine… and immune-boosters like zinc and vitamin C.
