Nobody WANTS to lose their eyesight. Most of us would do ANYTHING to keep it.
Yet there’s something that’s stealing the vision of too many older folks…
And it’s not just “old age.”
It’s one of the most terrifying complications of diabetes – and it’s the leading cause of blindness in this country.
No wonder Big Pharma has zeroed in on diabetic retinopathy… and is finding ways to push even MORE drugs on patients who have it.
The feds have just approved an injection to slow or stop the progression of the disease…
But it comes from a class of drugs that can actually make your vision worse!
In the worst-case scenario, they could even KILL you.
Don’t turn a blind eye to the danger these drugs pose…
Because there’s a natural solution that works in the same way – but WITHOUT the risks!
Don’t give up your life for your eyes
The injection solution known as aflibercept (brand name: Eylea) was already approved for age-related macular degeneration (wet type) and two different kinds of macular edema.
Now, the FDA has just greenlit it for the treatment of all stages of diabetic retinopathy.
The approval comes on the heels of the PANORAMA trial – a phase 3 investigation of how the drug might improve moderate to severe cases of the disease over the course of six months to one year.
The results of the study sound like a miracle… but only AT FIRST.
In a whopping 80% of patients who received injections every eight weeks, their diabetic retinopathy not only DIDN’T advance… but actually IMPROVED.
A hallmark of the most serious form of the disease is the growth of extra blood vessels in the retina.
Aflibercept inhibits the protein (a.k.a. VEGF) that allows these vessels to proliferate… and steal your vision.
So far, so good…
But there’s a catch.
And it’s not the size of the needle that’ll be stuck into your eyeball (although there’s that, too).
Injections of VEGF inhibitors come with a risk of stroke… heart attack… and DEATH!
There’s something else that inhibits VEGF, like this class of drugs – but without the scary warnings.
Two superstar nutrients for vision support… zeaxanthin and lutein!
Studies have shown that patients with non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy have lower concentrations of these carotenoids in their retinas… and that supplementing with them can improve the condition.
These powerful antioxidants can help you see better, too.
And you won’t get the SERIOUS adverse reactions that come with aflibercept — like a horrible case of eye inflammation known as endophthalmitis or detachment of your retina!
You also won’t get some of the more COMMON adverse reactions to this drug, which include:
- eye pain
- eye bleeding
- vitreous detachment, which can lead to floaters and retinal detachment, and
- increased intraocular pressure, a risk factor for glaucoma.
Even if NOTHING goes wrong with the injection, the drugmaker warns that your vision could be temporarily compromised immediately afterwards… and you won’t be able to drive yourself home until it clears up.
The choice is clear…
You can find lutein and zeaxanthin occurring naturally in fruits and vegetables – but for optimum amounts, choose a vision support formula that contains them from a maker you trust.
