First, let me pull the curtains open and expose the ugly truth about the “hot” new diet drug.

You know, the one that vows to be both SAFE and EFFECTIVE.

It’s called lorcaserin, a.k.a. Belviq.

That first part – safety — already has a huge flaw. The claim comes from a study that looked ONLY at cardiovascular events.

Sure, it’s nice that it won’t stop your heart (probably).

But it’s still got plenty of other side effects, including some super freaky ones.

It can make you look like a vampire with “cool, pale skin.”


It can also give you bladder pain, bloody urine, and nightmares.

Onto the other part of the equation, effectiveness.

Less than 40 percent of the patients actually LOST a measly 5 percent of their body weight, compared to just 17 percent of placebo patients who lost that 5 percent.
