I’m not a conspiracy theorist. But if I were, I would find this timing very fishy.

While I was doing some research, I couldn’t help but notice three dates.

* In early 2010, I told you about the first published studies confirming a link between the use of statin drugs and increased type 2 diabetes risk.

* Almost two years later, in December 2011, Pfizer’s patent for Lipitor ended. Lipitor, of course, is the original patented statin and the best selling drug ever.

* Then, about two months later, in early 2012, the FDA finally issued a requirement for statin drugs to list diabetes risk.

Hmmm. Did the FDA do Pfizer a huge favor by holding off on the diabetes warning for two years?

I’ll answer that one with a question… If we found out the FDA did exactly that, would we be one bit surprised?
