Getting away from it all

I don’t know about you, but after the winter we’ve been having here along the mid-Atlantic coast, the idea of spending a few days relaxing at a premier resort in Sedona, Arizona, sounds very appealing right now.

Wellmy invitation (and yours) has just arrived.

Last week HSI Panelist Elson Haas, M.D., sent me a packet of information about a Spring Purification and Wellness Retreat scheduled for the second week of April in the beautiful high-desert of northern Arizona. Dr. Haas will be the featured speaker at this four-day retreat, which will include special presentations on preventive and integrative medicine, detoxification, and digestive health.

Each day’s itinerary will include morning Hatha Yoga and meditation sessions, as well as motivation and wellness information seminars. Along with Dr. Haas and other speakers, participants will get a chance to tour Sedona’s stunning red rock country, including visits to the local vortex power spots for which the area is famous.

The Wellness Retreat provides first class accommodations at the Poco Diablo Resort, healthy and delicious organic meals, and an opportunity to arrange a private consultation with Dr. Haas, a pioneer in the field of integrated medicine and the acclaimed author of seven popular health books, including, “The Detox Diet,” and “Staying Healthy with the Seasons.”

One of my colleagues here at HSI has been to northern Arizona a number of times and he promises that after experiencing the unique environment of Sedona and the surrounding Oak Creek Canyon, you’ll want to return again and again.

Further details about the Spring Purification and Wellness Retreat can be found at Dr. Haas’ web site: And as we get closer to summer, I’ll give you information about another Wellness Retreat – a cruise to Alaska, scheduled for August.

To Your Good Health,
