Years from now, the sight of a pregnant woman drinking fluoridated water will be just as shocking as seeing her holding a martini and a cigarette in her hands!
Of course, now we know how boozing it up and smoking can harm an unborn child… but watch any movie showing life in the 1950s, and you’ll see how common it was.
And if you remember that era, I’m sure you saw plenty of moms-to-be puffing and partying away in person, too!
We’re in a situation that’s a lot like those “good old days” right now — only instead of alcohol or nicotine, the dangerous substance is fluoride.
Amazingly, despite everything researchers have found, far too many health professionals still regard fluoride as some kind of necessary nutrient for healthy teeth and bones.
Nothing, however, could be farther from the truth.
And a new study has confirmed that those at the biggest risk from exposure to fluoride are unborn children. But if you or someone in your family is expecting, don’t expect to hear this news from the obstetrician, pediatrician, or even your dentist.
Luckily, it’s not hard at all to make three simple changes that will not only help to ensure a brighter future for that new bundle of joy… but be best for everyone in the family!
Something in the water
As you’ve read right here in the eAlert, fluoride is truly the scam of the century!
What started out as a profitable way to dispose of a toxic byproduct of the aluminum and fertilizer industries has now become a widely accepted part of our dental health routine.
Despite all of the assurances that this neurotoxin is “perfectly safe” and even “good” for us, experts have continued to sound the alarm over the years.
And right now, it’s going off louder than ever.
Two recent studies, one of which was published this past month in the journal Occupational & Environmental Medicine, have found that prenatal exposure to fluoride can damage the brain of an unborn child.
Researchers were able to make a direct connection between the amount of fluoride in a pregnant woman’s urine and a lowering of her child’s IQ. In fact, the more fluoride the moms took in, the more IQ points their children lost.
This study looked at kids from 1 to 3 years old, just toddlers. But what about as they grow older — might things start looking better?
Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
This latest study reinforces the results of one released last year (both of which were done on pregnant moms in Mexico) that looked at IQ numbers for kids up to 12 years old, also measuring fluoride amounts in their mom’s urine. And the same sad situation was revealed – a clear link between a mother’s intake of fluoride and a reduction in her child’s IQ.
While private and public fluoride-pushers (the two biggest being the CDC and American Dental Association) may try to invalidate these studies, that’s going to take a good amount of trickery.
The researchers involved aren’t just a couple of people out to further an agenda. They’re part of a large, well-respected group of doctors and scientists from places such as Harvard, the University of Michigan, and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York. Also, one study was funded by the National Institutes of Health.
Despite being a known poison, fluoride is deliberately added to the drinking water across two-thirds of the U.S. And aside from the danger of exposure during pregnancy, it’s bad news for everyone, as fluoride has been clearly linked to a disruption of thyroid function, weakened bones… and even cancer.
And guess what? Despite all of the hype, fluoridated water doesn’t even prevent tooth decay!
So, don’t just ditch the fluoride for the expectant mom in your life — do it for everyone in the family, and do it by taking these three important steps:
#1: If your drinking water is fluoridated (you can find out by calling your local water provider), install a reverse osmosis filter at the tap (the cheaper option) or for your entire home.
#2: Don’t buy bottled water that contains fluoride! (You’ll need to carefully check labels.) And ditch the fluoridated toothpaste and mouthwash as well.
#3: Don’t allow your dentist to give you a fluoride treatment – especially if you’re pregnant or hope to be. And never, ever allow one to be given to a child in your family.
Of all the special precautions moms can take to insure a healthy pregnancy, eliminating fluoride is right up at the top of the list. So, don’t let anyone try to tell you that these new findings aren’t extremely important… they are.
